I spent the better part of two hours yesterday editing and formatting a report for my friend, only to have the darn thing corrupt, unable to be retrieved, except in some strange wing dings style version of my beautiful 52 page report.

Frickin' Word 2007, man. It sucks out loud.

So, yeah, now I'm going to have to start again. I've converted the original, unformatted document to Word 2003. At least I know how to fix things in 2003 when they go wrong.
